Story 92                  Legend of the Blade Masters           Told By Bishop

~~~~~~ Before the time of drow and elves, there existed a race known as  ~~~~~
~~~~~~ Irid who ruled the land.  These Irid were lead by 8 great masters ~~~~~
~~~~~~~ of the sun who defended the land with their wisdom and skill in ~~~~~~
~~~~~~~ the blades.  They defeated demon after demon until one day, a  ~~~~~~~
~~~~~ mighty titan did lay waste to the land and the armies of the Irid. ~~~~~
~~~~~ The great masters were called forth into battle against the titan, ~~~~~
~~~~~~ but they knew there was no hope.  So they raised their scimitars ~~~~~~
~~~~~~~ in the air and plunged them deep into their own hearts, praying ~~~~~~
~~~~~ to their goddess to take their lives and destroy the titan.  Their ~~~~~
~~~~ goddess responded and the titan was forever banished to the heavens, ~~~~
~~~ never to bother the realms again.  The Irid master's souls were locked ~~~
~~~~ away in tiny acorns, forever imprisoned in agony.  The acorns emitted ~~~
~~~~~ great power that could be sensed by strange lizards, precursors of ~~~~~
~~~~~ the dragons.  These lizards hid the acorns away, to hide them from ~~~~~
~~~~~ weak mortals unleashing the power of the blade lords.  Where these ~~~~~
~~~~~ acorns are now is anyone's guess... they could be destroyed, lost, ~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ or ineffective by now... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
